LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Some East Texas kids are spending the week learning to live green.
The theme this year at the annual Angelina Beautiful/Clean Eco Camp is "A Bug's Life."
Kindergartners through fourth-graders are learning all about bugs through arts and crafts, games, and storytelling.
Organizers say it's important to teach the campers early on, how to care for our ecosystem.
"Our mission is to educate and empower everyone in our community and that's what we're doing," said Amanda Anderson, of AB/C. "We're educating our students that they can live in a clean, green community and these are just helpful ways that we can teach them how important it is."
Later this week, campers will learn about all the bugs native to Angelina County.
