LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - They say it's one of the oldest houses in Lufkin and the Angelina County Historical Commission is about to call it home.

Molly Fischer's father built the home in 1925 and now she's giving it to the organization.

The North Raguet house is where she grew up and now the historical commission will restore it and make it their office.

"It wasn't hard at all because my father built that house lovingly and loved it until the day that he died and he would just be so happy that the historical society would be there and it would be there for a long time," Fischer said.

The commission says they have 200 volunteers from the county ready to help restore the house, but need more.
