NACOGDOCHES TX, (Press release) — Fireworks go 3D this summer thanks to Brookshire Brothers! The Lufkin-based grocer is the official sponsor of Nacogdoches' Freedom Fest on Sunday, July 4th. To make the red, white and blue pyrotechnics really pop, Brookshire Brothers is giving away 6000 3D glasses. Director of Business Development Emily Watts says, "Fireworks are awesome, but we thought giving everyone a 'new' perspective on this festive Fourth of July tradition would be a blast. So we're inviting folks to visit our stores in Nacogdoches, Center, Carthage, San Augustine and Timpson to get their 3D glasses."
The summer fun starts at Festival Plaza in Nacogdoches at 4 o'clock on Sunday the 4th. That's your deadline to enter your best burger in the "Star Spangled Burger" Cook-Off! So who is the Texas Forest Country's best burger master? Brookshire Brothers' panel of judges will make that final decision before the last roman candle explodes across the Fourth of July sky! Pick up your entry form at any area Brookshire Brothers location or go on line to www.brookshirebrothers.com. The 'top chef' in this contest will take home a new BBQ grill with smoker. The 2nd place winner will 'pocket' a $100 Brookshire Brothers Gift Card. Please see the attached entry form for details.
The Nacogdoches Jaycees put on this evening of patriotic pomp and pop. In addition to the food, fun, moonwalk and games, this year's festival features musical acts, Four on the Floor and Halycon 5 and the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
This is the fourth year Brookshire Brothers has sponsored the star-spangled Fourth of July celebration in downtown Nacogdoches. Watts adds, "It ties beautifully into our company's core values of family and community. It truly doesn't get any better than the Fourth of July in the oldest town in Texas where thousands of families come together to celebrate the freedom we enjoy in this great land." The fun runs from 5PM until the last sparkler goes out about 9PM.
Fire up the grill for the second annual Star-Spangled Banner Burger Cook-Off sponsored by Brookshire Brothers.
Contestants have the opportunity to show off their burger-grilling skills Sunday, July 4th at Freedom Fest in downtown Nacogdoches.
Fabulous prizes will be awarded to the first and second place winner of the cook-off.
"We hope this year's burger cook-off is bigger, better, and even tastier than last year's," said Anderson Dolton, meetings and event coordinator for the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We cannot wait to see who can make the best burger in East Texas."
