Even though we have seen a few afternoon showers pop up across East Texas in recent days, they have been few and far between.
As we head towards the weekend, chances for any rain showers will be virtually zero as a ridge of high pressure settles in overhead.
That means the heat will be a notch or two higher than what we have already seen so far this week. Look for highs to climb into the middle to upper 90's, with heat indices (feels like temperatures)in the 100-104° range.
If you are planning on taking dad out fishing or perhaps on a boat ride this weekend, the lakes are in fairly good shape. Most of the area lakes are running about 1-2 feet below their normal stage, but that is pretty good considering how dry it has been. With winds expected to be light and variable, the waters should remain smooth to slightly choppy.
