LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An Angelina County Grand Jury has indicted two men for separate cases of sexual assault of young girls.
Edwin Alcantar, 26, of Lufkin, was arrested in March after sheriff's deputies say he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at least ten times, beginning in Feb. 2009. Deputies learned of the assaults after the victim's mother learned from the victim's cousin that she was being assaulted.
Felix Aguirre, 46, of Lufkin was arrested in April for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl dating back to when she was 13. According to an arrest affidavit, Aguirre would assault her after her mother had gone to sleep, then tell her if she ever told anyone, she would never see her sisters again.
The victim finally told her mother about the incidents in April. When the mother confronted Aguirre, he admitted to the crime and said he had fallen in love with the victim, the affidavit stated.
