Hawks draft Nac's James, trade him to Nets

NEW YORK, NY (KTRE) - Nacogdoches native Damion James will don the blue and red as a member of the New Jersey Nets.

The versatile 6'7" basketball player, who was a four-year starter at Texas, was drafted with the 24th pick in the first round by the Atlanta Hawks. He was traded to New Jersey shortly after.

James entered the NBA Draft last year, but withdrew his name from consideration in time to play his senior season at Texas, where he was a third-team All-American.
