6/28/10 Lufkin Police report

Theft - 900 Block North Medford Drive: On Monday, June 28, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 2:00 A.M. that date a known male suspect stole merchandise from a business located in the 900 block of North Medford Drive.  According to the report, two employees of the business stated to Lufkin Police Department Officers that the suspect attempted to pay the employees to allow the suspect to purchase beer outside of the legal selling hours and that when they refused to do so the suspect removed a 30-count package of beer from within the business without making payment.  The report stated that a witness identified the suspect and that the suspect's actions and vehicle were captured by the business' security video camera system.  The incident was referred for further investigation to determine if a warrant will be obtained for the suspect's arrest or if the suspect will be summoned to Court.

Assault - 3500 Block North John Redditt Drive: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 11:45 P.M. that date a known suspect assaulted the complainant at a residence located in the 3500 block of North John Redditt Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend hit her face and then fled the residence with her mobile and home telephones to prevent the complainant from contacting law enforcement.  The report stated that Lufkin Police Department Officers were unable to locate the suspect and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Incident/Information - 100 Block North Timberland Drive: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 9:30 P.M. that date a male subject forced a female subject into the trunk of a vehicle outside of a business located in the 100 block of North Timberland Drive and then fled the area at a high rate of speed.  According to the report, Officers from Lufkin Police Department, Angelina County Sheriff's Office, and Texas Department of Public Safety searched for the vehicle and subjects for approximately one hour before the female subject returned the same business to make a purchase.  The report stated that further investigation revealed that the male and female subjects had staged the kidnapping scene after watching a television show about public pranks.  The incident will be investigated to determine if the subjects will face criminal charges.

Criminal Mischief - 1200 Block Tulane Drive: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 7:30 P.M. that date unidentified actors damaged a vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of Tulane Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actors damaged the vehicle's window and roof and that witnesses observed the actors actions, but the complainant could not identify the witnesses or actors.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Debit Card Abuse - 200 Block East Polk Avenue: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that between June 26, 2010 and June 27, 2010 a known suspect fraudulently utilized the complainant's debit card to make multiple purchases at Lufkin-area businesses.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect stole the debit card from the complainant's residence and used the card to make multiple unauthorized purchases.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Terroristic Threat - 1800 Block Sayers Street: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 2:00 P.M. that date at a residence located in the 1800 block of Sayers Street, a known suspect threatened to injure the complainant.  The complainant stated that her boyfriend claimed to possess a firearm and stated to the complainant that he would injure her before the end of the day.  The report stated that responding Lufkin Police Department Officers located the suspect driving in the area but did not find him in possession of a firearm, and that the suspect stated that the complainant's statements were false.  The report stated that the suspect was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning notice prohibiting his return to the complainant's residence and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation - 2200 Block Homewood Drive: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that between June 25, 2010 and June 27, 2010 an unidentified actor(s) attempted to burglarize a residence located in the 2200 block of Homewood Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) broke a window at the residence and attempted to pry open an entry door to the residence but were unsuccessful in gaining entry into the residence.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Criminal Trespass - 1900 Block Sunrise Avenue: On Tuesday, June 27, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 7:00 A.M. that date at a residence located in the 1900 block of Sunrise Avenue, a known suspect violated a previously-issued Criminal Trespass Warning notice.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her adult son came to her residence that date in defiance of the notice he previously received that his presence at the residence was prohibited.  The incident was referred for further investigation and a warrant will be obtained for the suspect's arrest.
