ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County deputies arrested a Lufkin man Tuesday on an outstanding warrant stating that he threatened his son.
According to a written complaint, deputies were called to the 100 block of Weisinger Road in May. John Richard Burch Sr. , 48, of Angelina County was arrested after his son called the police saying that his dad was intoxicated and was trying to bust out the windows in his car.
When deputies arrived they arrested Burch for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. During his arrest he stated that he was going to "come back and whoop [his son's butt] and burn down the house with them in it."
Burch was released from the county jail and later that day arrived at the residence. As he entered the driveway, he picked up a rock and threw it into the front windshield of his son's truck, causing the windshield to shatter, and yelled some profanity.
Later in the day Burch called his son and told him he was coming back down to finish what he started, but deputies intersected Burch for the second time before making it back to the residence.
A warrant was issued on a charge of retaliation on May 3. Burch was arrested on the warrant Tuesday during a traffic stop.
