LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Chester woman accused of stealing several thousand dollars while she was employed with a Lufkin doctor's office has turned herself in on a theft charge.
According to Det. J.B. Smith, police began investigating the case when in April 2008, an office manager accused Tina Joy Conner, 36, of Chester, of falsifying her time sheet by using a password to add time to her hours in the office's computer system.
Smith said the investigation continued in Nov. 2009, when it was believed Conner was taking money from customers that they used to pay doctor's bills.
Police obtained a warrant for Conner's arrest in November and she turned herself in to police Wednesday.
Conner bonded out of jail for $2,000 on the theft charge.
