HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - A man rushing to get to his mother's house after she thought there was a fire started a fire of his own after wrecking his pickup.

Luckily, the wreck occurred close to his mother's house, where Hudson Fire and Police had responded, so they were able to respond to the wreck quickly and put out an engine fire.

According to Police Chief Jeff Burns, Montana Gresham, 19, was westbound on FM 706 when he lost control of his vehicle. One of his tires hit a culvert and his truck rolled at least twice.

Hudson Fire Chief Chris Smith said the fire scare came from the mother dumping an ash tray into a trash can. The home suffered no damage.

Gresham was taken to a Lufkin hospital, where he was treated for lacerations and bruises.
