LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was arrested for beating and robbing another man after drinking with him, according to Lufkin Police.
According to the report, the complainant said he was drinking with two other men, around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, which he knew only by first name, on the 100 block of Southend Boulevard. The complainant said the two men attacked him and took his wallet and checkbook out of his pants pocket.
When an officer began investigating, he found Jimmy Tatum, 31, of Lufkin, with blood on his shirt. The report states Tatum said the stain was the victim's blood, but he said he was trying to stop the attack. However, two witnesses told officers they saw Tatum actively involved the attack and robbery.
Officers are still trying to determine if there is enough evidence to charge one other person.
Tatum is charged with robbery. Bond has not yet been set.
