LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man convicted for his role in two convenience store robberies has been sent to a state "boot camp" program as part of his sentence.

Justin Durham, 23, was arrested in August in connection to a robbery of at Joc-Stop in Redland on Aug. 2 and another robbery at Polk's in Idlewood on Aug. 16. He pleaded guilty to the crimes in June.

District Judge Barry Bryan Friday sentenced Durham to 10 years in prison and ordered him to complete the "boot camp" program, a state prison program modeled after military boot camp, which lasts between 75 and 180 days. If Durham is successful with the program, Bryan will consider granting him probation, according to Assistant District Attorney Art Bauereiss.
