HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Houston County Sheriff's Office is investigating a string of thefts not believed to be related to the recent 11-county theft ring.

According to Sgt. Randy Hargrove, at least 12 burglaries have occurred in the rural areas between FM 1280 and State Highway 21, and in Lovelady over the past three months.

Hargrove said thousands of dollars worth of items, including welding machines, guns, trailers, air-conditioning units, lawn mowers and flat-screen televisions have been stolen from residences and businesses.

A stolen trailer was recovered in Tomball by drug agents during a raid, Hargrove said.
