Livingston woman killed after not yielding right-of-way

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Livingston woman was killed Tuesday evening after she apparently failed to yield the right-of-way on a rural intersection in Polk County.

According to the DPS report, Avelina Martinez, 38, of Livingston, was driving a 2002 Pontiac four-door eastbound on FM 3126 at 5:15 p.m. when she hit a 2001 Dodge pickup, driven by Earl Harrell, of Goodrich, who was driving southbound on FM 1988.

Martinez died at 6:16 p.m. at a Livingston hospital. The report states she was not wearing a seatbelt.
