BRONSON, TX (KTRE) - A high-speed chase across state lines ended Tuesday afternoon with a Bronson man surrendering at his home, according to the Sabine County Sheriff's Office.
Chief Deputy George Griffith said Louisiana State Police alerted the sheriff's office at 1:45 p.m. of a man they were chasing who was about to cross into Sabine County. Griffith said he then engaged in a 90-mile-per-hour chase with James Theo Wright, 49, for 14 miles until Wright stopped at his house in Bronson at 2:03 p.m.
Griffith arrested Wright and will charge him with evading arrest, which is an enhanced charge since it would be his second conviction, along with reckless driving. Griffith said Sabine Parish will charge Wright with aggravated flight, disobeying a stop sign and improper lane usage.
Wright has a history of misdemeanor offenses, including theft and driving while intoxicated.
