ONALASKA, TX (KTRE) - Onalaska Police officer Terry Valka, still in his uniform and driving his personal car, had just put in a long day at work when he spotted an SUV going the wrong way in the westbound land of US HIghway 190 west around 6 p.m.
Officer Valka caught up with the driver of the 2008 Chevy Silverado when he finally pulled over at the entrance of the Cedar Point subdivision and then stopped on the shoulder of US Hwy 190.
Valka said Robert Clayton Davis, 54, of Onalaska, appeared to be intoxicated. A backup officer from the Onalaska police department and DPS Trooper David Flowers soon arrived to help investigate. Trooper Flowers performed a field sobriety test on Davis.
Flowers said Davis had trouble performing the tasks and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. His bond was set at one thousand dollars.
