Nacogdoches man accused of 'brass knuckles' attack

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – Police say a fight between two women took a disturbing turn early Sunday morning after a man attacked them with a pair of brass knuckles.

Rakeem Levon Rhodes, 17, is accused of punching the women in the face with a set of brass knuckles during a fight. Police say the fight happened at Rudy's located on North Street at 3:32 a.m. Sunday. It's believed Rhodes knew one of the women involved in the fight.

One woman is in stable condition and other didn't go to the hospital for her injuries.

According to police, Rhodes allegedly ditched the brass knuckles under a car and then took off running when authorities arrived. Police say they chased Rhodes for about half of a mile. Rhodes was arrested at a nearby cemetery.

He's charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and having a prohibited weapon.
