LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two Lufkin residents were arrested over the weekend after police say they were caught with drugs in their cars.
At about 1 a.m. Saturday, police heard loud music coming from a vehicle parked at a Chevron at 804 North Timberland Drive. According to the report, officers located the vehicle owner, Ricky Dewayne Penson, 38, and took him into custody for violating a city ordinance of playing loud music.
Officers searched Penson and located off-white rocklike substances which field-tested positive for cocaine, according to the report.
Penson is charged with the state jail felony possession of a controlled substance.
At about 9 p.m. Friday, officers came into contact with Alisa Ann Smith, 27, at the parking lot of Polk Oil Company at 620 North Raguet Street. According to the report, Smith was seated inside her vehicle and appreared to be drinking beer. Smith consented to a search of her vehicle and an officer found a substance in her center console cup holder which field-tested positive for cocaine, the report stated.
Smith was charged with a felony possession of a controlled substance.
