LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man, who was not having much luck with hitting on a woman at a nightclub Tuesday night, was arrested for breaking into the woman's home, police say.

According to the Lufkin Police report, Gary McKnight, 46, had gone to Owens Club on Keltys Street and made aggressive advances toward another woman. The woman had grown tired of him and went to her home on Abney Street.

Police came to the home at 12:54 a.m. after the woman called and said McKnight had broken into her home through a window and wielded a knife. Police arrived and observed a broken window and McKnight fled, jumping over a fence, the report states.

Police found him behind some nearby bushes and verbally ordered for him to come out, which he did. A search of McKnight revealed two pocketknives, the report states.

McKnight was booked into the Angelina County Jail and charged with burglary of a habitation and evading arrest.
