(KTRE) STORMTRACKER WEATHER CENTER: Dangerously hot conditions will continue to prevail across East Texas as we head towards the end of the week and into the weekend.
You can expect air temperatures to top out in the upper 90's, approaching 100 degrees, with feels like temperatures (heat indices) in the 108-112 degree range.
It is the heat index, or feels like temperature, that will be very high, causing heat fatigue and possible heat exhaustion to set in if you are not careful.
A few showers from the remnants of Tropical Depression #5 could give a few of us a brief cool down, but even then, it is only temporary.
So far this month, we have hit the century mark at the Angelina County Airport seven times. The other four days, the afternoon high hit 99.
Remember that you can stay up-to-date with the heat and scattered showers. Just visit our StormTracker Weather Center for the latest conditions, forecasts, StormTracker Radar, and more.
