NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A man and woman say they were robbed at gun point, but waited five hours to report the incident. Police say they had some inconsistencies in their report.

According to the Lufkin Police Department a man and female appeared and reported that around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday they were traveling along North Medford Drive in Lufkin when they heard a knocking noise coming from their vehicle so they stopped the vehicle on a side street to investigate the noise.

When the man got out of the car he says two men with guns appeared, took their money and a wallet from his pockets, and then ran from the area.

The report stated that initially they told police that they stopped on Shady Pine Street, near North Medford Drive, but later said that they stopped in the parking lot at Herty Elementary School.

The complainants did not account for the five-hour delay in contacting the police. The incident was referred for further investigation.
