ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Heavy rain has been reported for the southern part of the KTRE viewing area, though a heat advisory is still in effect.
A resident south of Huntington called in a tornado sighting to the sheriff's office, but Lt. Pete Cooper said responders found no damage or evidence of a twister.
The forecast calls for a high of 100 degrees on Monday.
It does look as though the extreme heat could be coming to an end this week. Another hot day is forecasted for Tuesday but as the remains of Tropical Depression #5 move west, and possibly strengthen back into a depression, clouds and showers could increase a bit toward mid-week. This will allow our high temperatures to finally remain below the century mark.
