According to Amanda Anderson, AB/C Executive Director, "For the past 19 years, the response to this campaign has been outstanding. Residents and businesses in Angelina County have been very supportive of this program. Since the inception of this campaign, we have kept more than 125 tons of old phone books out of the Angelina County landfill."
"Last year, more than 15 tons of directories were collected with this year's goal being 10 tons. The phone books will be collected by the Houston-based company that will shred them to create insulation," stated City of Lufkin Recycling Coordinator Lynn Winthrop.
