Nacogdoches squirrel thinks it's too hot, too

BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) -

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - East Texas folks aren't the only ones who think it's too hot. Check out how this squirrel is cooling off.

Molly Smith said she took the picture in her back yard in Nacogdoches. She said she dumped ice in the bird bath and later caught this squirrel taking advantage of it.

While the squirrel is looking for relief, at least the heat advisory has been called off for Nacogdoches County and other surrounding areas. However, the advisory is still in effect for Houston, Polk and Trinity counties.

There is a chance of thunderstorms through Thursday, but temperatures will remain in the mid- to upper-90s.

A burn ban was declared in Angelina County on Friday and San Augustine and Sabine counties followed suit today.
