8/18/10 Lufkin Police report

Theft of Service - 1800 Block South First Street: At approximately 8:40 P.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 8:20 P.M. that date an unidentified suspect stole food from Sonic, located in the 1800 block of South First Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect received their food order and handed the complainant a credit card for payment but then drove away when the complainant went into the business to complete the transaction.  The report stated that the credit card is believed to be stolen or fraudulent, that the complainant provided descriptions of the suspect's vehicle, the suspect, and the other occupant's in the vehicle, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation - 800 Block York Drive:  On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 8:00 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's residence, located in the 800 block of York Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging one of the residence's windows and removed from within the residence two televisions, a laptop computer, and a video gaming system.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Fraud - 100 Block North Timberland Drive: At approximately 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 2:30 P.M. that date an unidentified Hispanic, female suspect attempted to use a stolen credit card to pay for merchandise at Walgreens, located in the 100 block of North Timberland Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect left the business when the credit card transaction was declined and a short time later the credit card's owner contacted the business from Kentucky to inquire about the attempted fraudulent transaction.  The report stated that the business' security video camera files will be reviewed and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation - 100 Block Cordelia Street: On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 2:00 A.M. and 10:50 A.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's residence, located in the 800 block of York Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she woke to discover that her purse missing from the kitchen table and that she believes an unidentified actor(s) entered into the residence through an unlocked door and stole the purse.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation - 900 Block South First Street:  On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's residence, located in the 900 block of South First Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging one of the residence's windows and removed currency from within a nightstand.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officer collected evidence from the scene and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Vehicle - 2400 Block West Frank Avenue: On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 2:45 P.M. and 3:45 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Castle Pines Health & Rehabilitation, located in the 2400 block of West Frank Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) entered into the vehicle and removed $200.00 from a wallet stored in the vehicle's console.  The report stated that the complainant reported that the vehicle was locked at the time of the incident and that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officer did not observe signs of forced entry into the vehicle.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Forgery - 1800 Block West Frank Avenue: On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that on or about July 11, 2010 four payroll checks written on a closed account were cashed at a business located in the 1800 block of West Frank Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the checks initially cleared the screening process but the business later learned that the account was closed.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officer collected the checks as evidence, that the business' security video camera files will be reviewed, and the incident was referred for further investigation.

Theft - 900 Block Henderson Street: On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 2:00 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) stole a lawnmower from outside of the complainant's residence, located in the 900 block of Henderson Street.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Counterfeiting - 1000 Block South Medford Drive: At approximately 12:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that sometime the previous evening an unidentified actor(s) passed a counterfeit ten-dollar bill at a business, located in the 1000 block of South Medford Drive.  According to the, the complainant stated that the counterfeit note was discovered when a manager balanced the cash register and that the business' security video camera files will be reviewed.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
