LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Police say they have arrested two burglars after being caught in the act by an eyewitness at a Lufkin business.

According  to the Lufkin Police report, Miguel Angel Mijares and Jose Bermudez, both 40 and from Lufkin, were arrested after trying to steal an air compressor from the open bed of a truck outside of a business located at 1121 Abney Avenue.

The report stated that a witness saw the two thieves and told the owner. The owner confronted the suspects and recovered the air compressor, then the suspects walked away.

Officers located Mijares and Bermudez in the area. Each have prior convictions for theft so the charge was enhanced to a State Jail Felony.
