NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team will wrap up their second week of fall camp Saturday with a scrimmage. The scrimmage, which is the second of the fall, has been moved to a 6 p.m. start at Homer Bryce Stadium. It was originally slated to get under way at 7 p.m. but was rescheduled for 6 p.m. Friday morning.
The coaching staff is planning on running the scrimmage in game situations that will consist of two halves. The SFA defensive imposed its will in the opening scrimmage. The offense was held to only two touchdowns, while the defense came up with several big plays including two interceptions and a fumble returned for a touchdown.
The Lumberjacks are just days away from opening the 2010 season at Texas A&M. A unanimous pick to repeat as conference champions, the 'Jacks will kickoff against the Aggies at 6 p.m. from Kyle Field. Tickets for the season opener are still available through the SFA Ticket Office at (936) 468-JACK.
•The annual Ladies Night presented by State Farm has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 26th. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the SFA Athletics Fieldhouse. Registration will begin at 5 p.m.
•Meet the 'Jacks, presented by the Fredonia Rotary Club, will take place Monday, Aug. 30th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dr. Baker Pattillo Student Center Grand Ballrooom. Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased from any rotary member, or at the front door.
