Lufkin Police arrest Moscow man for allegedly kidnapping girlfriend

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested a Moscow man who they say punched his girlfriend unconscious before putting her in his car and driving off with her.

According to the report, Ivan Alvarez, 19, went to his girlfriend's family's house on Kiln Street and demanded she leave with him. When she refused, he punched her hard enough to knock her out, the report stated.

The report states one of the woman's family members called police at 2:45 a.m. and police put out a search for Alvarez's vehicle. Diboll Police located the car and stopped Alvarez. Lufkin Police came to Diboll and arrested Alvarez and brought the woman back to her family.

According to the report, the woman suffered significant bruising and injuries to her face. The family took her to a Lufkin hospital.

Alvarez is charged with aggravated kidnapping and was booked out of the Angelina County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
