Okla. judge won't drop count against warden's wife

MANGUM, Okla. (AP) - A state district judge has denied motions to dismiss a felony charge against the wife of a former Oklahoma warden accused of helping a prisoner escape 16 years ago.

Greer County District Judge Richard Darby rejected the motion Thursday in the case of Bobbi Parker, who is scheduled to go to trial Sept. 20. Darby also denied a motion to continue the trial and to bar jurors from watching a videotaped statement she gave to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Defense Attorney Garvin Isaacs says Parker was kidnapped by convicted killer Randolph Dial, who escaped from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in 1994. He says Parker was held hostage until she was rescued by authorities in Campti, Texas, in 2005.

Isaacs has said evidence showing Parker is innocent has been withheld or destroyed.
