LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police made two arrests Monday in responding to a disturbance call at Winston Park, but neither were in regard to the actual shots fired complaint.
Police responded to the call Monday at around 2 p.m. and located five men near the pavilion-area of the park, along with a 38-caliber handgun and several GPS receivers, the police report stated.
According to the report, Ja'Bryant Davis, 19, was found to be carrying a 22-caliber handgun and two credit cards. Angelina County Sheriff's investigators arrived on the scene and determined the GPS receivers and credit cards had been stolen from vehicles outside the city limits.
Davis had previously been convicted of a felony offense and was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm. He is also charged with credit card abuse.
Delanious Jacobanix Session, 19, of Lufkin, was also arrested on an outstanding municipal warrant.
According to the report, the officers received conflicting accounts concerning the gunshots but, aside from the recovered handguns, they did not locate any evidence of gunshots.
