LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man, arrested in August for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend, claims he is the victim of his own kidnapping, according to a Lufkin Police report.

The report states Ivan Alvarez, 19, claims he was leaving his home late Wednesday night, on the 1000 block of Lee Avenue, when someone approached him from behind as he was getting on his motorcycle and put a bag over his head and assaulted him.

Alvarez said he woke up tied up on the porch of a relative in Diboll.

Lt. David Young said the call was originally handled by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office until they learned the victim had been kidnapped inside the Lufkin city limits.

Alvarez said he did not know who committed the act against him and he did suffer a laceration on his back.

"They actually found him still bound on that porch when they arrived," Young said.

Alvarez is out on a $10,000 bond for the August incident in which police say he knocked his girlfriend unconscious and attempted to take her to Polk County.

Diboll Police caught up with him and Lufkin Police arrested him on a kidnapping charge.
