Wet conditions blamed in Polk Co. fatality

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Spring woman hydroplaned while driving Monday afternoon and was broadsided by an oncoming car in Polk County. She died immediately.

According to the DPS report, Veronica Suzanne Potter, 28, was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla at 12:51 p.m. on U.S. 190, 4.1 miles east of Livingston, when she hydroplaned into the eastbound lane. Amanda Marie Vodicka, 25, of Livingston, was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 and broadsided her.

Vodicka was seriously injured and is being treated at a Livingston hospital. Potter died at the scene.
