NACOGDOCHES- (KTRE) – The weekly installment of Jack of the Week has resumed kicking off the second week of the college football season. SFA Lumberjacks have a stellar offense. Cordell Roberson is a sophomore wide receiver from Jefferson, Texas who posted great numbers last season, as a freshman contributing to the potent offense. Accounting for 20 receptions for 380 yards and four touchdowns he stands 6 foot 3 inches tall and is very athletic.
The kinesiology major scored against Texas A&M in the season opener and leads the young sophomore corps of receivers onto the field every Saturday.
"He is working really hard he has a really good chance of being a very good player for us for the next couple years. He has great hands and runs really good routes," SFA outside receivers coach Todd Schonhar said.
Roberson cherishes every day that he has a chance to strap on the pads and take the gridiron.
"Playing division one ball that's all I ever dreamed of I'm here now. All I have to do now is to do it, that's the way I look at it there is a lot of people out there that want to be a d-one school you have to take advantage of it you never know anything can happen," Roberson said.
SFA fourth year head coach J.C. Harper feels as though Roberson is a great player and with he has a great attitude sky's the limit.
"Cordell is a tremendous athlete a tremendous football and really plays the game at the wide receiver position like a lot of them we have had around here." With his work ethic he will have a chance to do whatever he wants to do each and every weekend and further," Harper said.
You can watch Roberson and the Lumberjacks at Homer Bryce Stadium Saturday Sept. 10th at 6pm. They will host the University at Albany. Cordell Roberson is your Jack of the Week.
