Nacogdoches Woman Dead After Car Crashes into Tree

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE)- An east  Texas woman is killed in a one vehicle crash.

According to the Department of Highway Safety report, around 4:16 p.m. Bettie Pope-Little, 53, of Nacogdoches, was traveling in the eastbound lane on Highway 7, one mile east of mile post 714, when her 2005 Chevy Cobalt, left the road and struck a tree.

The reports states Little experienced driver fatigue, and fell asleep behind the wheel.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:15 p.m. She was wearing a seat belt.
