LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – A Huntington man was struck with a club and stabbed multiple times late Friday night, according to a Sergeant Scott Cagnon with Lufkin P.D.

Shortly before midnight, 47-year-old James Allen Young Jr. of Huntington forced his way into his wife's Lufkin residence, located on the 200 Block of McHale Road and confronted another man in a bedroom of the home, 47-year-old Daniel Williams, also of Huntington.

According to the police report, during the fight, Williams was struck in the shoulder with a club and stabbed with a knife three times on his left side.

The report stated Williams was able to get the club away from Young, who then left in a vehicle.

Young's son Allen D. Young of Lufkin says their family still supports him, adding, "He's not a bad guy. He works all the time.  When you love someone, you don't know how you would react if that person was with someone else."

Shirley Young, the suspect's wife, told KTRE that the two are in the middle of divorce proceedings.

Williams was taken to Memorial Hospital by private vehicle for treatment, and was released Saturday morning.

An arrest warrant for aggravated assault has been obtained on Young.
