LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man already in trouble on an outstanding municipal warrant is now in jail on additional charges after police say he swallowed the crack cocaine he had stored in a lip balm tube.
According to the report, Jacob Alexander Woodard, 17, picked up a lip balm tube with what police believe had crack cocaine inside and ran from officers. The officers chased and caught him in the area of Weaver Avenue and Culverhouse Street but say Woodard got rid of the tube and swallowed the cocaine.
Police later recovered the tube while making another arrest, at the 900 block of Hosea Dolphus Sr Avenue.
Woodard is in the Angelina County Jail on the outstanding warrant, evading arrest and tampering with evidence.
