Nacogdoches woman injured crashing into Pilgrim's Pride trailer

BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) - NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police are currently investigating a major automobile crash that occurred this afternoon in the 900 block of Martin Luther King Blvd.

A 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by Lucy Lambert, age 45 of Nacogdoches, was westbound on Martin Luther King and for an unknown reason crossed the eastbound lane and onto the property of the Pilgrim's Pride plant. The vehicle continued on the property over 100 feet and collided with a parked 53' enclosed refrigerated trailer. The time of call on the accident was 3:18 p.m.

Nacogdoches Fire Department and Nacogdoches EMS personnel, assisted by NPD officers, tow truck operators and Pilgrim's Pride employees worked for over an hour to free the victim from the accident. The victim was freed from the accident at 4:21 p.m. and was immediately transported by ambulance to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, Lambert was listed in critical condition.
