TYLER, TX (KLTV) - We are losing more than 1,000 World War II veterans each day in our country. By 2020 these members of the "Greatest Generation will all be gone.

Jim Hines, a Naval torpedo bomber pilot in World War II has never asked to be honored for his service to our country. However, Hines and other World War II veterans will have their names inscribed on the new Bushman's Center Building in Tyler.

Pierre de Wet, founder of Kiepersol Estates and Winery and Bushman's came to America from South Africa with his two small daughters to pursue the American Dream in 1984. He feels a special obligation to those who, as he puts it, "protected the American Dream".

The veterans will be honored at the Cost of Freedom Party, October 9th at Bushman's. The party will benefit the national organization, Hope For The Warrior.
