LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin Police Department has arrested a Lufkin woman who they say admitted to making false reports to Child Protective Services.

According to the police report, two complainants reported that Stephanie Ann Marsh, 27, had filed numerous reports about them to CPS for several years. The complainants said CPS investigators found each report to be false and directed them to contact LPD about filing criminal charges on her.

During the investigation, Marsh confessed to having filed the false reports but did not provide an explanation as to why she did so, the report stated.

A warrant was obtained for Marsh's arrest on Sept. 30 and Marsh surrendered herself at the Angelina County Jail on a charge of false report to CPS.

A representative for CPS was not immediately available for comment.
