Former Polk Co. peace officer pleads guilty to sex harassment of inmate

LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - A former peace officer with the Polk County Jail has pleaded guilty to inappropriate contact with an jail inmate.

District Attorney Lee Hon said Thomas Toomey, 26, of Livingston was charged in May 2009 with violation of civil rights for a person in custody, a state jail felony.

Toomey pleaded guilty to the charge and will be sentenced on Nov. 9.
