LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – It's been work but for 25 years, the community has kept KSWP and KAVX Radio on the air.

Through Thursday more than 100 volunteers and 25 local restaurants are joining the stations in a fall fundraiser.

They're relying on community members calling in their support through financial gifts.

The money will be used to replace the failing KAVX transmitter.

"Our goal for this fall fundraiser is $76,000 and we really believe that it's going to be no problem doing this. We have an amazing community that really cares for this ministry and just steps up every time and so we have full faith that people are going to call in and give online and become a part of this ministry," said Drew Wilson, promotions director.

For more information about volunteering, to make a gift or ask for prayer, call 1-800-944-8443 or log on to www.kswp.org.

They are accepting donations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. but additional volunteers will be available after hours to take your calls.
