10/6/10 Lufkin Police Report

10-05-2010 Criminal Mischief 600 Block Grove Avenue

On Tuesday, October 05, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 10:00 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) damaged a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Grove Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) used a large rock to break the rear window of the vehicle.  The report stated that the complainant identified a possible suspect and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

10-05-2010 Theft 900 Block Persimmon Avenue

On Tuesday, October 05, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an unidentified actor(s) stole two bicycles from the carport-area of the complainant's residence, located in the 900 block of Persimmon Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the theft occurred approximately two months ago but the complainant did not report the theft to law enforcement at that time; she stated that she contacted Lufkin Police Department this date because she learned that bicycles were recently stolen from a residence located in the 1100 block California Boulevard.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation but the report did not indicate a connection with the reported theft of a bicycle from the 1100 block of California Boulevard that occurred on or before October 02, 2010.

10-05-2010 Criminal Mischief 900 Block Kurth Drive

At approximately 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 05, 2010, Lufkin Police Department Officers responded to the 900 block of Kurth Drive in reference to a reported in-progress disturbance.  According to the report, the caller stated that the several females were involved in the disturbance and that wrenches were being used as weapons, but the caller was otherwise uncooperative with the Lufkin Police Department Dispatcher and the responding Officers did not locate the reported disturbance.  The report stated that a short time later the Officers met in the 100 block of Booker Street with a complainant who reported that the previously reported disturbance occurred at a carwash located in the 900 block of Kurth Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a known female suspect used a tire tool to damage a window of the complainant's vehicle, which led to a physical altercation between the complainant, the suspect, and several of their friends.  The report stated that the Officers did not observe signs of injury to the complainant and were unable to locate the suspect, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

10-05-2010 Theft 1100 Block California Boulevard

On Tuesday, October 05, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that on or before October 02, 2010 an unidentified actor(s) stole a bicycle from outside of the complainant's residence, located in the 1100 block of California Boulevard.  According to the report, the complainant stated that they realized on Saturday, October 02, 2010 that the bicycle was missing but believed that someone had borrowed it and would bring it back so the theft was not reported to law enforcement.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation but the report did not indicate a connection with the reported theft of bicycles from the 900 block of Persimmon Avenue that occurred two months ago.

10-05-2010 Theft 500 Block South Timberland Drive

On Tuesday, October 05, 2010, a complainant reported via telephone to Lufkin Police Department that the complainant's purse was lost or stolen between 1:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. that date.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she last saw her purse when she made a purchase at the Women's Shelter Thrift Store, located in the 500 block of South Timberland Drive, but management of the thrift store told her that the purse was not at the store.  The report stated that the purse contained the complainant's social security card, credit card, Lone Star food stamp card, and currency.

10-05-2010 Theft 100 Block North Timberland Drive

On Tuesday, October 05, 2010, an employee of a business located in the 100 block of North Timberland Drive reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 2:15 P.M. that date an unidentified suspect stole merchandise from within the business.  According to the report, the employee stated that they witnessed the male suspect conceal boxes of candy in the pockets of his pants and then exit the business without making payment.  The report stated that when confronted outside of the business by the employee, the suspect discarded the candy and fled on-foot from the area.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officers were unable to locate the suspect and the incident was referred for further investigation.

10-05-2010 Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 1000 Block Augusta Drive

At approximately 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 05, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 9:00 P.M. on October 03, 2010 and 10:00 A.M. on October 04, 2010 an unidentified actor(s) stole a vehicle from the driveway of a residence located in the 1000 block of Augusta Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that at the time of the incident the vehicle's key was inside of the vehicle and the vehicle was unlocked.  According to the report, the complainant described the vehicle as a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado extended-cab light truck, with tinted windows, silver running boards, a Ducks Unlimited sticker on the rear window, a small dent on the passenger side, and a trailer hitch with three trailer hitch balls.  The report stated that the vehicle was submitted to the state and national stolen vehicle databases and the incident was referred for further investigation.  Anyone with information concerning the theft of this vehicle is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at (936) 639-TIPS or online at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.
