NACOGDOCHES- (KTRE) – Dustin Kempf is a senior tight end who plays about four or five offensive plays of the game. But the bulk of his playing time stems from special teams as the long snapper on punts, field goals, and extra points. He gets plenty of playing time because the SFA Lumberjacks score quickly and often. He talks about his job and responsibility for the leading the charge when the team has to give up the ball
"Deep snap you only get one chance you get out there for one play if you mess the snap up the whole play is going to be messed up. It's going to be a huge turnover for the offense and its going to put the defense in a bad position so I try to be the best I can at it and for four years and four games into this season no bad snaps," Kempf said.
Kempf also moonlights as a tight end he has found the promise land once so far in his career.
"First pass I caught was a touchdown against Texas State but we blew them out like 92 to zero. Still a touchdown still on my record and its fun I play about four plays a game and I practice as hard as I can so when I get in the game I don't mess us," Kempf said.
All kidding aside Kempf's job is nothing to laugh at he's an important cog in the wheel for the special teams unit Dustin Kempf is your Jack of the Week.
