ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Huntington man was arrested early Friday after a Texas game warden obtained a warrant for his arrest after he said he caught him driving recklessly with drugs in his car.

According to an arrest affidavit signed Oct. 5, Warden Phillip Wood claimed to be patrolling Robinson Lane, located off FM 2109, when he observed a Dodge pickup driving in the ditch. As he drove closer, the truck almost struck his vehicle.

Wood stated he turned his lights on and, according to the report, the man stopped in the middle of the road, got out of the car and began running.

Wood stated the truck began rolling backwards into his car so Wood opened the door to the truck and put the truck in gear. By that time, the suspect, later identified as Justin Lee Hamilton, 28, had gotten away.

Wood was able to identify Hamilton by talking to a woman in the truck and through other evidence.

Wood then stated he inventories the truck and found a Xanax bar above the visor and a bottle of seizure medication.

Hamilton was booked in the Angelina County Jail early Friday on charges of possession of a dangerous drug and evading arrest. Details on how he was detained were not available.
