MOUNT PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) - To quote David Arnold "war is hell", and that is how he describes his experiences in World War II.

Arnold went into the 77th Infantry at the age of 18. He says he was "scared to death" most of the time. And yet, he served gallantly in Guam, Leyte, Okinowa and the Philippines, was wounded and received the Bronze Star for bravery.

At the age of 85, Arnold looks back at his service with pride. He says it was "an honor being a soldier."
