SFA football looks to protect top-five national ranking

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will look to stay atop the Southland Conference standings Saturday when they host Central Arkansas at Homer Bryce Stadium. The game, which was originally scheduled to be a 6 p.m. kickoff, was moved to 2 p.m. for the Southland Conference Television Network. The rest of SFA's regular-season home games will played at 2 p.m.

Saturday's game will also be the first of two SFA games televised on the SLC Television Network. The annual Battle of the Piney Woods against Sam Houston State from Reliant will also be televised. The Lumberjacks are 1-0 in televised games in 2010 beating Lamar, 71-3, earlier this year.

The Lumberjacks enter the contest with a 4-1 (.800) record and riding a four-game win streak. SFA will be facing a Central Arkansas team that is 3-2 overall, and 0-1 in Southland Conference play. The 'Jacks have made things tough on opponents in Nacogdoches over the course of the past two seasons. SFA is riding an eight-game home win streak coming into Saturday's contest.

Senior quarterback Jeremy Moses is on the verge of breaking two more Southland Conference career marks. He enters Saturday's game needing only one more touchdown pass and 336 yards of total offense to become the league's all-time leader. Ironically, the records are currently being held by former Central Arkansas standout Nathan Brown.
