LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin sex offender who police say failed to notify authorities that he was moving was arrested Wednesday when he tried to register about a month too late.
According to police spokesman Lt. David Young, Joshua Lynn Griffin, 19, had been living at Godtel, located in the 300 block of Moody Street. Last month, an officer made his monthly check on Griffin when he was told Griffin had moved away about two days after the officer's last check.
Wednesday, Griffin showed up at the police department to register at a new address and was arrested on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.
Griffin has two previous sexual offenses. The first conviction was in 2003, for indecency with a child, the victim being a 9-year-old male. The next was on the same date, for sexual assault of a child, the victim being a 16-year-old female.
