"Meet the Reporter" comes to KTRE-TV

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – The Texas Public Relations Association brought its media series "Meet the Reporter" to the KTRE-TV studios this month.

The group met with reporters, anchors and producers to discuss how to pitch a news story, story development and production, review news operations and deadlines, and exchange contact information.  The two hour session ended with a tour of KTRE-TV.

The Texas Public Relations Association group was comprised mainly of local public relations and marketing professionals.

"The public relations professionals walked away with so much information.  I heard a lot of positive comments.  I'm glad to know that they are utilizing what you shared," said Yana Ogletree TPRA representative and Dir. of Marketing and Public Relations Memorial Health Systems.  "I realize that this was a huge challenge for your news team to take time off during the middle of the news day.  Thanks again for an awesome presentation."

"It was KTRE's pleasure to host TPRA.  The session was just as informative and beneficial to us as we hope it was to them.  We always appreciate the opportunity to help build and strengthen our business relationships and partnerships," said Tina Alexander Sellers, KTRE-TV.  "Before the end of the day we had heard back from several members with story ideas and more questions, which tells us the session was helpful and a good time investment."

TPRA a statewide network of public relations professionals with varied experiences and backgrounds.

Brookshire Brothers Catering provided lunch.
