LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man arrested early Saturday for an outstanding assault warrant was discovered to be in possession of crack cocaine, according to police.

According to Sgt. Scott Cagnon, police have been keeping an eye on Owen's Club, located on Keltys Street, due to a growing concern about fights taking place outside of it. Cagnon said police observed Brian Jarelle Grimes, 29, coming out of the club in an apparent intoxicated state. Police interviewed him and discovered there was a warrant for his arrest on an assault charge.

While arresting him, they found him in possession of crack cocaine. The report states he was also high on marijuana laced with PCP, commonly known as "wet."

Grimes was booked into the Angelina County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance and five city warrants.
