LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Huntsville man found in a known drug area of town was charged Monday evening with a drug crime after police say he told them he had just bought two crack rocks.
According to the report, Lufkin Police observed Brian Darrell Roberts, 40, stopped in an area on the 900 block of Hoo Hoo Lane which is a no stopping/standing/parking zone and an area known for drug trafficking. The officer stopped him for numerous traffic violations and began to arrest him.
Prior to inventory, Roberts admitted having crack cocaine in his vehicle and admitted he had just purchased it before he was stopped, the report states. The officer reported finding two crack rocks in a cup holder in the vehicle.
Roberts was booked in the Angelina County Jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
